About Ameya
Ameya “Chiku” Kelkar was born on Sept 24, 2014. Tragically, when he was 6yrs old, his life was cut short suddenly due to a medical emergency resulting from an arteriovenous malformation (AVM).
He lived in a Seattle suburb with his parents and an older sister. Being the youngest in the family, Ameya was the center of their world. He was a happy child, known for his infectious laughter and boundless energy. His antics, fondly called “Chiku-isms” were hillarious.
Ameya grew up surrounded by science, engineering, and art. From a young age, he showed a deep interest in the mysteries of science and philosophy. He often asked his father, “Can we talk about Science, Baba?” sparking conversations about topics ranging from warp drive spaceships to the meaning of life.
His father wrote a poem in his rememberance.
