Why "Faster Than Light"?
The name “Faster Than Light” comes from two ideas -
First, Ameya loved science fiction, especially ideas like warp drive ships, wormholes, and teleportation, all about traveling faster than light. He was fascinated by the idea that nothing can go faster than light, and this challenge sparked his curiosity. He showed his excitement in fun conversations about a future when faster than light travel would be possible using warp drives. Once he was asked, “Who built the warp drive, Chiku?”, to which, he said with pride, “I did!”
Second, the name also represents a wish from science fiction: the idea that if you could go faster than light, you might be able to travel back in time. While this isn’t scientifically accurate, it symbolizes a deep desire to turn back time and find out about Ameya’s arteriovenous malformation (AVM) sooner, which could have changed everything.
